Several of the ladies in Kensington Congregation are knitters and crocheters and quilters. Having heard of the Prayer Shawl Ministry begun many years ago in the United States, we began our own ministry with a couple of knitters and crocheters with basic patterns of cozy shawls and blankets which were given to folks who needed comfort in their lives. Most recently, one of our members began quilting lap blankets which we can now provide to our wider community. The shawls and quilts are made with prayers in each stitch and with hope for peace and healing for the recipients.Â
These shawls and quilts are given to those who need a reminder that they're loved and cared for. Shawls and quilts are given to family members, neighbours, friends, and those in the community.
